FRIDAY BUILDING SIGN INSTALLATION – Friday
What’s Going On:
Signs are being installed on the exterior sides of the Friday building.
When:
Tuesday, May 13, 2025 7:00 AM to Tuesday, May 13, 2025 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
– FastSigns crew will be working in the area using a bucket lift truck.
– The area will be blocked off by cones.
– Work will occur on the Fretwell and Kennedy sides of the building.
Why:
To prevent pedestrian traffic in this area while signs are being installed.

PARKING LOT 21 CLOSURE – Lot 21
What’s Going On:
Parking Lot 21, located on Poplar Terrace Dr. near Witherspoon Hall, will be closed for maintenance.
When:
Monday, May 12, 2025 to Friday, May 16, 2025
What to Expect:
– Work has been postponed due to the weather and the lot will remain closed for completion of work.
– No access to Lot 21 for approximately five days, May 12th through May16th, weather permitting.
Why:
Lot 21 will be seal coated and painted.

TEMPORARY WATER SHUT OFF
What’s Going On:
The water supply will be temporarily turned off.
When:
Tuesday, May 13, 2025 6:00 AM to Tuesday, May 13, 2025 4:30 PM
What to Expect:
– All plumbing fixtures and fire systems will be temporarily out of service.
– Please take precautions regarding fire safety.
Affected Buildings:
* Witherspoon
* Wallis Hall
* Lynch Hall
* Witherspoon Lot
Why:
To facilitate the replacement of a fire hydrant.

ROAD CLOSURE AT MAC EVERETT WAY SOUTH
What’s Going On:
Road closure for cranes to change lighting at the Baseball stadium.
When:
Wednesday, May 14, 2025 6:00 AM to Wednesday, May 14, 2025 9:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Heavy Equipment (tractor trailer trucks and cranes) will be on site.
– Traffic will be blocked on Mac Everett Way South.
– All pedestrian traffic will be diverted away from work area.
– Barricades on site
– Construction personnel
Affected Buildings:
* Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium
* Judy W. Rose Football Center
Why:
To allow for cranes to change lighting at the Baseball stadium.

What’s Going On:
Window Washing at Storrs building.
When:

What to Expect:
– Crew will have equipment to clean the windows and will be using water.
– Electric cords and water hoses may be used.
Why:
To clean the windows at the Storrs building.

What’s Going On:
Parking lot 5 will be closed temporarily.
When:

What to Expect:
Construction equipment and personnel on site.
Why:
To repave and restripe the parking lot.

PARKING SPACE CLOSURES IN CONE DECKS
What’s Going On:
Closure of select spaces on level 1 of Cone Decks.
When:
Wednesday, May 14, 2025 7:00 PM to Friday, May 16, 2025 11:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Construction equipment and barricades.
– Parking spaces blocked off around repair areas.
– Redirection of traffic around closed areas.
Affected Buildings:
* Cone Deck 1
* Cone Deck 2
Why:
To repair areas of damaged asphalt.

FIRE PUMP ANNUAL TESTING – Campus
What’s Going On:
The Fire Systems Group will be conducting full flow fire pump annual testing in various buildings between Monday, May 12th and Wednesday, May 21st.
When:
Monday, May 12, 2025 6:00 AM to Wednesday, May 21, 2025 2:30 PM
What to Expect:
– Large volumes of water will be flowing outside of all campus buildings that are serviced by fire pumps and water-based fire suppression systems.
– These water flows will be brief in nature and should have a minimal effect on daily business activities.
– Contact Number has been updated.
Why:
These annual tests are required of all campus fire pumps and the fire sprinkler and standpipe systems they service.

FUEL FARM SHUTDOWN – Facilities Annex Four (Fuel Depot)
What’s Going On:
New Service Interruption Dates: Wednesday, May 14th to Thursday, May 15th.
During this period, the campus fuel station will be temporarily out of service.
When:
Wednesday, May 14, 2025 to Thursday, May 15, 2025
What to Expect:
– We kindly encourage all departments to refuel prior to the service interruption and to make appropriate arrangements for off-campus fueling if necessary.
– Normal operations are expected to resume on Friday, May 16th.
Why:
Fuel Farm shutdown to update the system.
